Hone Maxwell LLP attorney Marisol Swadener has begun her third year as treasurer and Executive Board member of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association. Her Hone Maxwell colleague, attorney Claudia Ignacio, has started her second year as director at large. Earlier this month, the SDLRLA announced its officers for the 2021-2022 term.

The two tax attorneys each have a long history of involvement with the nonprofit, dating back to law school. The attorneys and the firm are proud to support SDLRLA and its mission to advance equality, empowerment and justice for Latino attorneys and the community. The SDLRLA, whose members include law students, practicing attorneys and judges, is an affiliate of the California La Raza Lawyers Association and includes more than 300 Latino and Latina lawyers who practice in San Diego. The organization offers many programs to the community, such a the “En La Comunidad” mentorship program for law students, continuing legal education opportunities for attorneys and other high-profile events each year.

Marisol defends clients in audits, provides counsel on collection issues and advises on tax planning, compliance and controversy. Claudia’s tax practice focuses on planning, compliance and controversy, as well as a variety of international tax matters. Both attorneys are bilingual in Spanish.
