Hone Maxwell LLP Associate Attorney Claudia Ignacio was recognized by the San Diego County Bar Association with the 2022 Service by a New Lawyer Award. The award recognizes Claudia’s service to the legal profession, the community and to the SDCBA.
In awarding the honor, SDCBA said Claudia shows a significant commitment to the legal profession through mentoring students at California Western School of Law, Thomas Jefferson School of Law and the University of San Diego School of Law. The SDCBA also recognized her commitment to the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, which began soon after she graduated from law school. Claudia serves on the SDLRLA Board and several committees, including Membership, which she co-chairs, Community Service and Public Relations and Marketing. She also co-founded the event, “In Our Community/En La Comunidad,” whose mission is to provide legal resources to the community.
Additionally, Claudia volunteered as an attorney scorer for the SDCBA Mock Trial Competition, has assisted the Lawyer Referral & Information Service by speaking on Spanish radio shows and providing free consultations, and frequently presents educational seminars on tax law inside and outside the United States, the organization noted.
The annual award is given to an attorney who has practiced less than seven years for demonstrating a significant commitment to serving the legal profession, the justice system or the SDBA through legal education, mentoring or community service. Claudia and other SDCBA award recipients were honored during a ceremony May 20.
