As a law clerk at Hone Maxwell LLP, Connor E. McGettigan conducts research on tax planning and tax compliance for businesses and individuals both in the U.S. and living or operating abroad. His work focuses on helping resolve tax compliance issues for taxpayers stemming from businesses and accounts located outside the United States. Connor helps CPAs by assisting with the preparation of tax returns and guides clients toward compliance by researching the needed forms and schedules to be prepared.
Before joining HMLLP, Connor served as a clerk at two other law firms, including one where his work focused on supporting trusts and estate law attorneys. He also previously served as a student advocate at the University of San Diego State Income Tax Clinic, where he advocated for low-income clients on California tax appeals cases. In addition, he was a legislative intern for the U.S. House of Representatives, conducting research for op/ed articles and legislation and handling constituent communications.
Connor, often described as a “go-getter” who doesn’t shy away from challenges, embraces the opportunity to help attorneys resolve client issues in the face of ever-changing tax laws. He is looking forward to becoming an attorney so he can help clients achieve peace of mind in their tax controversies.
*Connor is not admitted to practice law in the State of California and works under the direction and supervision of licensed California attorneys.
